Sponsored Post: cellity Communicator Mobile Software Unveiled At CTIA

cellity_logo9.gif

While those of you who read the The Mobile Technology Weblog are undoubtedly aware of the cellity Communicator, mobile software that allows you send free text messages and make cheap calls to foreign countries, not everyone is—particularly in the United States. cellity decided the best place to demonstrate the app was at the recent CTIA conference in Las Vegas, Nevada, which included some expanded functionality.

The app will allow you to send an email to a mobile phone without needing to know the recipient's email address as well as encrypted emails. Not quite sure how that will work, but that's what the press release says.

The expanded cellity Communication application is not available yet. It is expected at the end of April 2008.

Join In The Nokia Conversations

While Nokia has had a number of different external blogging efforts going on, Nokia now has an official blog called Nokia Conversations. It is written by Nokia employees, or people paid by Nokia, to articulate the stories going on throughout the company.

Nokia Conversations will not only highlight the great stories inside the company, but it will highlight some of the conversations going on around the blogosphere. There is a del.icio.us bar along the side with a number of references to other blog entries written about Nokia. People are also encouraged to comment, of course.

Given that the site has been under development for a while, there is a huge archive of articles already available on the site. Have a look and join the conversation! See full article.

Fring Now Native on iPhone

fringiphone003.jpg
Rather than wait for iPhones to start shipping with application support, the folks at Fring have decided to release an iPhone version of their IM and VoIP client. This means, for the moment, you must have a jailbroken iPhone to install the software.

Fring provides the ability to make and receive VoIP calls over WiFi, and on non-iPhones, the mobile operator's data network. You also get support for IM as well through the usual networks.

I wonder if Apple is going to allow this app in iTunes once the applications start being official and all.
